About Consumer Protection Division

The Consumer Protection Division operates within the Kansas Attorney General's Office, with a primary mission to safeguard Kansas consumers. The division focuses on protecting individuals from scams, telemarketing fraud, and other deceptive practices, including identity theft. Specialists in the division investigate scams, mediate disputes, and prosecute violations of various state laws.

Key areas of enforcement include the Consumer Protection Act, the No-Call Act, the Roofing Registration Act, the Charitable Organization and Solicitations Act, the Kansas False Claims Act, the Funeral and Cemetery Merchandise Agreements Act, the Kansas Cemetery Corporation Act, and the Wayne Owen Act (identity theft). The division also works to educate consumers and businesses regarding deceptive and unconscionable practices, taking legal action against those who engage in them. Its efforts are geared towards preventing future harm to consumers and resolving issues in ways that return money to consumers. The division does not provide private legal advice, and its jurisdiction does not cover all disputes.

100$,waste of taxpayers money, the asstant attorney general in the consumer protection agency doesn't even know state statues, talk about a job that needs to be done away with, supposedly this branch exists to protect consumers but that's not anywhere near the case, guess I will have to go through the courts, luckily I have the entire conversation with the mechanic recorded on my phone so it's a sad day when you have to go to this extreme, when being straight up and honest would be the best course for everyone

KS Consumer Protection don't care that a car almost hit my 5 year old. They said that's not what they look into. They also don't provide remedy if you don't get a buyers guide from scamming car dealers. I really don't know what they do for consumers anymore but it ain't much!
