About Education Law Center - PA

The Education Law Center – PA is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring access to a quality public education for all children in Pennsylvania. The organization focuses its efforts on the most underserved students, including children living in poverty, children of color, children with disabilities, those in the foster care and juvenile justice systems, children experiencing homelessness, multilingual learners, and LGBTQ and gender-nonconforming students. Its mission involves holding officials and policymakers accountable for complying with laws protecting educational rights, keeping state laws and policies fair, and reducing disproportionality along race and class lines.

The Center employs various strategies, including legal action, to establish reforms and protect student rights. Its primary areas of work involve fighting for fair school funding, ensuring equal access to educational opportunities, and stopping the school-to-prison pipeline. ELC-PA also provides information, referrals, legal advice, and advocacy through its Helpline, and offers publications and resources to help families and advocates understand and protect educational rights. The organization supports community groups and grassroots advocates in their efforts to improve public education. It maintains offices in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.

Still waiting for someone to do call me and tell me what happened with my son's case. My son was discriminated by school and they teachers and principals . He was bullied and I called education law center and till this day nothing really was done about it. My son ended up being home school due to him shutting down and being let down by everyone else.

First we started out with a lawyer we called Mr. Alex, but he moved on to bigger and better things, so he passed us on to his colleague Kristina Moon. Ms. Moon at first was returning my phone calls, tried to help me get my son into a different school without success because the school district takes mental health as a joke. I have been trying to get in contact with Ms. Moon to no avail, no return emails, no return phone calls, not very professional. The last i spoke with her, she said she will contact me back, which she did, 2 months later. The phone call ended with "i will call you another time to discuss this further" haven't heard from her since. It is sad that it has come to this, me writing a review. I wish Mr. Alex never left.
