  I was disappointed with my experience during the firm's intake process. While speaking with a paralegal, I explained the facts of my case, including that I have video evidence of an employee threatening, harassing, and discriminating against me on a public social media platform while wearing the company's trademarked uniform. Instead of simply documenting the facts and forwarding my case to a licensed Connecticut attorney for legal review, the paralegal attempted to explain that because some of the conduct occurred outside of the employee's working hours, the employer might not be held liable. I found this inappropriate and unhelpful. In my opinion, it was not the paralegal's role to offer opinions about potential employer liability or to explain legal theories during an intake call. Their role should have been to gather the facts of my case and forward them to a Connecticut attorney for legal analysis. If the answer was uncertain, that uncertainty should have been acknowledged rather than presenting an explanation that appeared to minimize the issues I was raising. Questions involving employer liability, employee misconduct, and company social media policies can involve nuanced legal analysis. That analysis should come from an attorney licensed to practice law in Connecticut, not from a paralegal during the intake process. I contacted this firm expecting that my case would be documented and reviewed by an attorney. Instead, I left the conversation feeling that my concerns were being discounted before an attorney had the opportunity to evaluate them. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this firm's intake process.
