One of their attorneys, without ever meeting me, or seeing me or knowing anything firsthand about me, wrote in a parenting plan that I did things to my children for my 'own twisted purposes.' Very unprofessional. My jaw hit the floor after reading something so mean/hateful and unprofessional. That phrase had no place belonging in a professionally written, court document. When I first read it, I thought it had been written by a very angry teenager with 'daddy-issues'. She would not dialog with my attorney (who is known far and wide as one of the best in the state) who has been practicing law for about 45 years . . .compared to her ten. Shame. Avoid. If you think you will save money going this way . . . think again.

Took so long and being disabled without a car limits me on standard appointments and I got nowhere here! Mr. Shipp seemed irritated and combative with me. At one point I asked to end our conversation and try another day. Most everyone I spoke to makes me think they are doing this for the wrong reasons. Bar association

Kansas Legal Service is MORE THAN HELPFUL!!!! Mr. Shipp and his staff looked through my legal matter with a fine toothed comb and assisted me with various video conferences where he took the time to point me in the right direction. He was thorough, he was diligent, and he was straight-forward. I couldn't have asked for more.

Mr. Shipp saved me from financial destitution, all while treating me with respect and compassion. Each person working in this office was knowledgeable, professional and attentive. Brandi provided personal attention which was an immense consolation during a difficult time. I am truly grateful to Mr. Shipp and his associates for their dedicated assistance to those in need of legal support.

I was denied service due to lack of staff. Even after my ex was arrested for criminal damage to property against me, while she works at her county's local LEC. I was also denied food stamps on the same day because my VA check is too much. I've reached out as much as I could for help. With nothing in return. I can't afford an attorney, while also paying for the mortgage to the house my ex is living in. I've had custody of one of my skids that is 16years of age since I was 19year old. Does anyone know a decent attorney I can contact, that will hear me out? If so I'd appreciate it.

Shana who contacted me was kind, but I was denied services due to income and caseload by the manager. Which, if I could afford a private attorney and especially given my situation, being in an abusive marriage where my life has been threatened multiple times and where I could funnel the money without his knowledge I'd have done that. The recommendation the manager had was to put the attorney fees on a credit card. Not helpful given that I will be a single income household if I survive the whole ordeal, but also no further consultation was offered. This seems highly dismissive of a serious and potentially life threatening situation. Honestly, no matter of income certain situations should take priority. Even if just a consultation is offered.

I'm in a very abusive relationship and was denied as they aren't an entitlement agency. They took forever to get back with me just to tell me they can't help me. I've got children in the home as well. If anything happens to me or my children this agency is to blame.
