I highly recommend the Law Office of Michael Baumer for Legal Services. Michael is the consummate professional. Michael and his Legal Assistant, Renee Purvis, communicated clearly, provided the exact list of tasks to perform, answered many questions, and provided expert advice throughout the entire Filing process. Creditors meeting went smoothly. Since that time, I have called with several questions and always found Michael and Renee to be very responsive and ready to help. The entire process was managed very efficiently, effectively, and professionally. Thanks for your excellent legal services. John and Donna G.

I knew little about filing for bankruptcy when I was referred to Michael Baumer by a friend at church. His team walked me through the process in a precise manner and everything worked as planned. Their prices are fair and they work remotely.

Life feels great again after receiving my Chapter 7 bankruptcy discharge and it would not be possible without the dedication and hard work of the Baumer law firm. Filing for bankruptcy was a daunting decision due to its potential impact on my credit and financial future. Prior to making the decision to file, I was in a very rough spot financially; the culmination of rising living expenses, medical emergencies, and getting trapped in a cycle of "borrowing from Peter to pay Paul." I'll spare the details of the other avenues I looked into for debt resolution, but to get right to the ending, I identified that I needed to consult with a bankruptcy attorney. A co-worker recommended the Baumer Law Firm and after reviewing their website, I decided to reach out. From the start, I felt confident in my decision. The consultation with paralegal Renee was reassuring and I appreciated the time taken to explain the specifics of my case. When I say each and every question was answered, I mean every. single. one. Because each bankruptcy filing is truly a case-by-case basis, I reviewed what that would mean for me. After careful deliberation, I made the final decision to retain. I later met Megan Baumer, my attorney, who was not only friendly and professional but also exuded confidence and expertise, which allowed me to trust her fully. Prior to any official Bankruptcy Court meeting, Megan held what I call "pre-meetings" to discuss whatever that next process was, which I found extremely helpful. My case took several months to complete and so during that time whenever I had a question, I would either call or email the office and Renee was quick to respond (often the same day). I cannot compliment the customer service enough. Overall, I am very pleased and happy with having Megan Baumer and the Baumer law firm in my corner. Once again, I do personally feel that filing for bankruptcy is a very case-by-case basis, but if you are seriously considering bankruptcy, I highly recommend calli

I would like to provide a revised review of my experience with my attorney. I was recently informed of a personal family emergency that affected Renee's ability to communicate during a certain period. I have since received an apology along with a detailed update, including an estimated filing date and an outline of the upcoming procedures for my case, which were communicated clearly via email. When I was searching for the best bankruptcy attorney, I received a strong recommendation from a trusted community attorney. At that time, this law firm stood out for its excellent reviews and reputation for trustworthiness, which led me to place my full confidence in them. Now that communication has resumed and my case is back on track, I am reassured in my decision. I am confident that the team will handle my case with the dedication and professionalism that earned them their top-tier reputation. Bankruptcy is a difficult and important decision, and I believe this firm is truly committed to supporting. Renee and Michael proved this to me and I would like to add an additional reference for those that are searching for attorney team who cares and who can rely on that you've found the correct one right here!

Mr. Baumer, we paid the fees in full back in March 2025. Renee took the information/payment to which we have record of. For the last several months, we have tried to get some sort of status from Renee to no avail…and appear to be getting the run around from/being ignored by her. The last we heard from her is that she need to review some info and contact us within a week…that was just about two months ago. She has a not responding to texts, emails, etc. We are reaching out to you in case you are not aware and would like to speak to you, ASAP. We have worked with you in the past and had excellent service; we are very concerned now. Update: Due to understandable emergencies, there were delays; however, Renee and Mr. Baumer kept their promise, kept in contact with us, and fully resolved our case! We are very pleased with the results and had since changed our review and highly recommend him!! Thank you!!

The entire Baumer Law staff, Megan, Renee, and Michael were incredible in advising, guiding and doing all the heavy lifting for us in regard to our Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing and resolution. The fee was very reasonable and they made the whole online and virtual process very user-friendly to the point of us never having to travel from our house(s) to accomplish what we needed to do. Thank you Baumer Law!!!

I had a disappointing initial consultation experience that led me to choose a different firm. The legal assistant, Renee Purvis, called 15+ minutes late without apology or asking if I was still available, and launched directly into the consultation as if the delay hadn't occurred. During our conversation, my questions seemed to be met with frustration rather than the collaborative approach I was hoping for. While I appreciated the time to hear their services explained, the interaction raised enough concerns about communication style and professionalism that I decided to work with another firm. In legal matters, mutual respect and responsiveness are essential, and I didn't feel that foundation was established.

I do not recommend the Law Office of Michael Baumer. Like many reviewers below, my biggest issue was communication, or the total lack of it, from Michael and Renee. Here's my experience: I had an initial consultation call, sent over all my paperwork, and did a second call to clear up remaining questions. Michael told me more than once that my case was "very straightforward", fewer than five creditors. Then it stalled. After two months, the only work product I received was a draft paragraph proposing a settlement with my main creditor, riddled with typos and unfilled placeholders. I replied within 60 minutes. After that, both Michael and Renee went completely silent. They stopped answering my emails and stopped answering emails from the creditors themselves. After multiple attempts to reach them with zero response, I gave up, hired a different attorney, and requested a refund of my $6,000 deposit. Given how they handled everything else, I'm not optimistic I'll see it. Maybe this was a solid firm at one point. Based on my experience, it feels like Michael is winding down toward retirement and new clients aren't a priority. And if you read the other reviews here, you'll notice a pattern: poor experiences, followed by apologies, which leads me to believe they are requesting people to revise negative reviews, which makes me question how much their Google rating actually reflects. Save yourself the money and the months. Look elsewhere.
