Lawyer Referral Service

The Alaska Lawyer Referral Service is a program organized by the Alaska Bar Association that connects individuals with qualified attorneys throughout Alaska. The service comprises Alaska lawyers who are active members in good standing of the Alaska Bar Association and have opted to be listed. It facilitates referrals by organizing lawyers based on various types of law, such as real estate and adoption, to help match clients with legal professionals experienced in their specific legal problems.

When contacting the service, individuals speak with a Lawyer Referral Service Assistant who gathers brief information about their legal issue. The service then provides the names and phone numbers of up to three lawyers who handle similar legal matters. It is important to note that the Lawyer Referral Service does not rate the lawyers listed, provide legal advice, or maintain a list of pro bono or low-fee attorneys. Lawyers referred through the service charge no more than $125 for the initial half-hour consultation. Subsequent fees are to be discussed directly with the referred attorney. The service operates Monday through Friday during specified hours.
