DON'T waste your time or energy contacting this organization!! In the past two years, I've had the need to reach out to them three times. Each time, an intake interview was done, detailed documentation provided for a case. The intake person will appear to act like the organization truly wishes to help/assist in your need. Then when their committee of lawyers meet, to see if they will act upon your case, you ALWAYS get the same excuse.. "We are short staffed and unable to take your case at this time". I truly wonder if a committee even meets?? Does this non-profit organization receive funding for each intake interview, knowing they aren't interested in taking a case?? Something tells me they do!! I would HIGHLY recommend NOT wasting your time in this organization!! Organizations like this should be ashamed they even exist. I'm grateful I don't work for an organization that has such a poor practice!! Any other organizations that recommend this group should think twice before their recommendations!! #LawyersCommitteeForBetterHousing

Like all others have said during the intake they will be highly optimistic and tell you all the things you want to hear. Then after you will be almost ghosted, and upon trying to provide documentation you will be scolded and scoffed at, how could we not understand this very complex legal process? Jennifer Perimal steered me wrong in my case and abandoned me right before , because I said I felt misguided and a little bitter about being told (after saying they will help ) that I am basically done for and that I need to stop explaining things so much, because they are doing people favors. She literally told me she's dropping me case off the docket and hung up on me. Great service for people that are really going through it. DO NOT trust these people

The lawyer I worked with, Kaitlin Cutshaw, was really wonderful and easy to work with! She was responsive to every email, call, and was very upfront about what was in her realm of doing as opposed to a lawyer or firm that can be a bit more comprehensive/thorough in what I was hoping to accomplish. She was able to try and give me advice as to how to proceed that was within her capabilities. It still left me without the ability to do so because of the extenuating circumstances that everyone has denied happening and refuses to acknowledge or help me with. All in all, I enjoyed working with her and thought that she was very professional and easy to communicate with.

I've been having a issue with my landlord I was given this information from 311 I've been having i'm paying utilities, for a common area that is shared with three other families .I was given they keep you in the loop with calls and emails that are never returned . It looks like they won't help you unless you have an addiction. If you're looking for counsel fast easy, even if you're paying for council, they still won't help you.
