About 603 Legal Aid

603 Legal Aid is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free, high-quality civil legal services to individuals facing legal challenges in New Hampshire. The organization's mission is to ensure access to justice for all residents of the Granite State, particularly those experiencing economic hardship that threatens their basic needs.

Formed on June 1, 2021, through the merger of the Legal Advice & Referral Center (LARC, established 1996) and the Pro Bono Referral Program (established 1978), 603 Legal Aid offers a range of services including free civil legal advice and information by phone, direct representation in court, and referrals to volunteer attorneys or other legal aid programs. The organization operates a central call center that connects thousands of people with legal assistance and resources, supported by a robust volunteer program that recruits, trains, and coordinates legal professionals.

To qualify for services, applicants must meet specific income limits, have a legal problem that the organization handles, and reside in New Hampshire. 603 Legal Aid addresses various legal issues, including housing, family law, consumer resources, domestic violence and sexual assault, state and federal benefits, taxes, civil and disability rights, employment, criminal record annulments, military discharge upgrades, and bankruptcy. Key initiatives include the Domestic Violence Emergency Project (DOVE), the Hope for Heroes project for veterans, and the Low-Income Taxpayer Project (LITP). The organization also handles intake for New Hampshire Legal Assistance (NHLA).

As of right now I am leaving them 1 star. I have been on hold since 9am and it is 12:20 right now. I understand long wait times but this is ridiculous. The recording states they are open from 9-1230, which means I've waiting on hold for 3.5 hours and am no closer to getting help.

Jessica Erazo claims to be someone who fights AGAINST Domestic Violence/Abuse, but she's actually someone who promotes and fights FOR Domestic Violence/Abuse by women against men. I reached out to 603 Legal Aid trying to get assistance with legal representation and they told me "This is not their area of expertise and would not be able to help me" because they're protecting their own attorney. I have court documents to back this up and show how vigorously she's supporting a Domestic Abuser in not only abusing me but also abusing and neglecting my children. I wouldn't recommend 603 Legal Aid to anyone because they're not going to help you at all.

I'm guessing that this organization has been helpful to many, but in my case, they were not. I called due to an issue I was experiencing, and stayed on hold for over 20 minutes. They offered a callback option according to your place in the phone queue, which I opted in for. I was third in line to speak with someone. I never received a call back. I waited all day with my phone by my side so as not to miss the call. Never happened. I'm not sure why, or what happened. Thankfully I was able to resolve the matter on my own. However, when you call a place designed to provide legal aid to those who are in need of advice, the very least you can do is to respond. And that very simple act never happened.

I recently helped a friend with a legal issue fill out an application for 603 Legal Aid assistance. Sean called him the very next day, and Lee called a few days later. After gathering all the facts, we then found out my friend did not have to go to court after all and the case was dismissed by the plaintiff after Lee brought information to their attention. Thank you both very much for helping out my friend as we were both very worried about him having to go to court.

Unreliable. Sent them a lot of personal info. They contacted me letting me know they accepted my application and were willing to attend court. Then they never returned my emails or calls. And they never showed up.

Completely useless they skim through paperwork and then deny you saying you got a criminal charge already pending when I don't even have any criminal charges at all pending

i called on monday 4- 6-2026 during the intake time frame between 9:30 am to 12:30 pm Monday thro Wednesday and i was given the option to receive a call back by pushing the number 3 and i would keep my place in line that was not true waited all day Monday and Tuesday no call back i then decided to call again on 4-8-2026 at 9:30 on the dot was zero in queue again waited over 45 mins and no response this is not ok as i have been waiting for a call back and never received the call i would just do the app online however im high functioning autistic, as well as learning disabled it is easier for me to do something like this over the Phone so disappointed another firm that says they are there for people and then they turn around and make it nearly impossible to get help

I received prompt communication via phone calls and email. If someone did not know the precise answer they placed me on hold or called me back. Inappropriate expectations were not set which was appreciated. This is a critical service and I am disappointed to see older negative reviews and less current positive ones. They help people who can not afford an attorney when they qualify and their case merits intervention. The Dove project is essential for families in NH I read on the Facebook page and appreciate all of the work both are doing. There is a lot of information on the 603LA website that helps one to advocate for themselves.
