Frustrating. Great people. Very kind and obviously caring but just be aware that these individuals are under experienced by and large and you are at risk of being given miss information. I filed a form as suggested, which was the wrong form, and ended up costing me a great deal of time and frustration. The service is appreciated if that is all one can afford...just be aware.

I was very very disappointed. we had one question pertaining to an interpretation of a law After 2 + weeks from first call and sending documentation of our problem. we finally received an interview call from an attorney who proceeded to not answer our question with a clear and concise answer, in fact we feel he danced around it. we felt very dismissed from the start of the phone call.

So disappointing! They said they couldn't help me due to a conflict. I asked if they could tell me the nature of the conflict, and they said, "I can't talk to you because of a conflict!!" They then hung up on me without saying another word. It had a Mean Girls "you can't sit with us" vibe. Very un-fetch.

To bad you have to give a star at all. Got a call back was told they were not sure I'd they could help they would call back that after noon or next day. It's been a week. I called andnleft another message but still no call. I don't have a car to go in. I have no income waiting for ssdi. I need help. This isn't right.

I called Legal Aid during their business hours and spoke with a very helpful guy. He took down my information and did some research. It turned out there was a conflict of interest in my case. For anyone upset about that, here's the deal: a conflict of interest means someone else involved in the case has already reached out to Legal Aid. They can't get into details because of confidentiality, but it's a standard legal issue — not personal. In my case, I was trying to file for full custody and asked for help with paperwork. They took down my info, including the sperm donor's, and then explained the conflict. That likely means the sperm donor already contacted them or is being assisted by them. So if you get told there's a conflict of interest, it's not about being mean or unhelpful — it's just how the system works. There's no need to get upset with someone on the phone or at the desk. Take a page from my book: say "Thanks for letting me know, have a good day," and move on. It's really that simple.
