About Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid
Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that advocates for the legal rights of disadvantaged people in Minnesota. Established on April 15, 1913, as The Legal Aid Department, the organization has over a century of history providing access to the legal system for vulnerable citizens. It relies on donations, legislative funding, and grants, and does not accept Legal Services Corporation funding, which allows it to pursue class action lawsuits, represent noncitizen neighbors, and advocate for legal and policy changes at the state legislature.
The firm provides civil legal aid at no cost to eligible clients, including people with low incomes in 20 counties, older Minnesotans (60+) in 26 counties, and individuals throughout the state living with disabilities. Legal services are offered in various areas, including:

If I could give ZERO stars I would. Do NOT use this number. They will not help you. I tried to explain things as best I could, and was berated. Even them saying I didn't give enough to clarify on one thing in specific when they could have asked! And when I tried, it wasn't good enough basically. Got berated for even calling this number even though my therapist gave this to me to HELP me. If I would have known this was "such an important number" I would have NEVER called. How was I supposed to know this was number for *extreme* cases? You couldn't have told me that before fully taking me?? The fact that I apologized to you and you still had the nerve to treat me like I'm an idiot. Thanks for making a grown woman cry 👍.

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally place on record serious concerns regarding conduct that appears to intrude upon my personal privacy and involve manipulative or coercive actions affecting my personal, professional, and legal affairs. I have reason to believe that actions may have occurred which improperly accessed, monitored, disclosed, interfered with, or influenced my private communications, personal information, employment circumstances, or decision-making processes without my consent or lawful justification. Such conduct, if occurring, raises substantial concerns under privacy protections, ethical obligations, and applicable law. This notice is not issued as an accusation against any specific individual. Rather, it serves to document that I am aware of potential privacy intrusions and manipulative practices, and that I do not consent to any such activity in any form. Any attempt to: • Access or monitor my communications or personal data • Influence or manipulate my employment, legal posture, or personal relationships through indirect or deceptive means • Coordinate third parties to exert pressure, intimidation, or coercion • Misrepresent my statements, condition, or intentions to others is expressly rejected and must cease immediately. I am preserving all relevant records, communications, and materials for documentation and review. This correspondence is intended to protect my rights, establish notice, and ensure that all interactions moving forward remain lawful, ethical, and transparent. I request that any parties involved immediately refrain from any conduct that could reasonably be interpreted as an invasion of privacy or an act of manipulation. This letter is sent without waiver of any rights, claims, or remedies available to me under state or federal law.

Disgustingly rude and unprofessional navigators and CACs that treat anyone they are calling for case information like a dog pile. Please listen to your ridiculously rude employees calls. Why do you employ such folks?

This company is unbelievable, unhelpful and down grading. Any time I have asked for help over the years, I have not recieved it. I had a few workers act as if they know what they were doing, but they had no clue. I explained to one worker, if he doesn't understand or have the correct answers, that he shouldn't speak on situations he has no idea about, that he shouldn't give legal advice. That worker then got upset, he did raise his voice as if he was someone other than a professional worker. I do not understand how legal aid is still around. This company has a very bad history of not helping low income family's. False advertisement and they need to find professional legal help workers.

This service is giving free legal help to a millionaire I have an issue with services that pick people that are not in need. It's pretty obvious when someone owns multiple houses collects a lot of money from their investments as inherited money they don't do their due diligence which means that people in need are overlooked or their vetting process needs to be better. I am told that he qualified and if he qualified than the people really in need are not getting the help very disappointing.

That is correct. They do not help low-income families or people with disabilities. They only help people that are here. Illegal I had a great lawyer, and legal services didn't like it.When he was helping me, and they got rid of him, they're getting rid of all the good lawyers to help all income people

The help we received was life changing for my disabled daughter. We owe it to Anne for the compassion and understanding she had, and the professionalism she possessed.
