About Orange County Bar Association
The Orange County Bar Association (OCBA) was established on November 22, 1901, by ten attorneys in the Orange County Courthouse. It functions as one of California's largest voluntary bar associations, providing a variety of programs, services, and opportunities for its attorney members, the judiciary, and the broader community.
The OCBA supports its members by fostering professional development and mutual support. Attorneys participate in numerous specialty sections and committees that meet regularly to exchange information and provide education on specific legal fields. These sections cover diverse areas such as Alternative Dispute Resolution, Appellate Law, Business & Corporate Law, Commercial Law & Bankruptcy, Criminal Law, Elder Law and Special Needs, Environmental Law, Family Law, Immigration Law, Intellectual Property, Labor & Employment Law, and Real Estate Law.
In addition to member services, the Orange County Bar Association engages in public service initiatives. These include public service projects, community outreach programs, and facilitating pro bono opportunities. The association also offers a Lawyer Referral & Information Service and supports law-related community service through the Orange County Bar Association Charitable Fund.

Terrible customer service. Treat people like 2nd class citizens when you ask for a lawyer referral. Sometimes you get a nice person on the phone, but most part a karen like character answers calls.

WOW, how is this place even open! Extremely RUDE and unhelpful receptionist. They want 25 dollars from you to do what? To give you random Attorney information no better than what you would get from any random review site? The attitude of this place! Shameful.

I'm low income and I was referred to Patrick o Kennedy in the city of orange and I want to warn anyone who gets recommended to him to please don't do it because they are money hungry shark's who just care about money than helping. He took my money and did nothing but make a phone call to the other party and charged me for the free consultation. He never filed nothing or did anything. I recommend to avoid all lawyers and do your own paperwork or find a lawyer in Los Angeles who are more reasonably priced.

contacting this establishment for help regarding a lawyer referral is a complete waste of time, trying to explain a kind of lawyer you need in relation to the case to the person who expected to help you is not easy, plus there is a charge for each lawyer to introduce as a referral fee.

Dealing with the OC Bar Association has been nothing short of frustrating. Their customer service is absolutely abysmal—rude, dismissive, and unhelpful. Every interaction feels like you're being treated as a nuisance rather than someone seeking assistance. It's clear they have no interest in supporting the community or maintaining a standard of professionalism. I've had multiple issues with them, and every time, it's the same dismissive attitude. For an organization that's supposed to represent legal professionals, they're shockingly incompetent when it comes to handling basic inquiries or providing courteous service. If you're considering reaching out to them for any reason, save yourself the headache. This is one organization that desperately needs to improve its customer service and treat people with respect.

I was referred to a lawyer that has some serious misconduct. Dragged my case a a dead end months into it after sucking my entire family's savings. Had to find alternate lawyer to clean up after her. Unbelievable how this is happening in OC.

I filed a complaint for fee dispute against Lan Quoc Nguyen attorney in Orange County Bar, Mandatory Fee Arbitration Committe, Case No. MA-025-7050, because he discharged me and transferred my case to another attorney without my consent, no Court filing, no case number. He returned my file, but no refund Arbitrator Richard Green ruled that I discharged attorney because of slow work and denying my complaint. I ask Arbitrator and Bar Association for the source of this information because no one sharing it to me. No respond, no reply On 6/25/2026, Orange County Superior Court overturned the ruling of OCBA Arbitrator Richard Green, Case No. 30-2026-01542636, ordering the Defendant Lan Quoc Nguyen to return a portion of retainer plus court cost. I update and again requesting OCBA open a formal investigation into the exact origin and source of the fabricated information replied upon by Arbitrator Richard Green And requesting a written response from OCBA within 30 days
