About RAICES
RAICES, founded in 1986, is an immigration services nonprofit that began as a two-person team in San Antonio and has expanded across Texas and the nation. For four decades, the organization has provided legal and social services to individuals and families seeking to establish roots in the U.S., advocating for welcoming communities and collective freedoms.
The firm delivers trauma-informed, subsidized legal representation to address systemic barriers faced by immigrant communities. RAICES aims to ensure access to justice for all, regardless of their origin. Its legal services include removal defense and asylum, family-based and affirmative services, detained family defense, and support for DACA and temporary status.
RAICES operates with a team of 140 advocates dedicated to defending human dignity. Its leadership team comprises experts in social justice, refugee services, and legal advocacy, with experience in nonprofit financial management, trauma-informed clinical practice, and high-impact immigration litigation. The organization also engages in rights advocacy and policy analysis to contextualize developments in immigration law.

If you're done helping the community just say that, now you're just making money off people who think this organization is ran with integrity (which I'm sure once was)

Raices used to be great before 2020. Post lockdown and post covid they are now working from home so the main office in i35 is closed. They never pick up the phone, this place just went downhill with their costumer service.

I've been with Raices for 10 years!! They have change my lawyer over 3 times. Lost my job for my work permit expiring this year and back in 2021 I wasn't able to go to college and lose my scholarship because my lawyer at the time had me believing my green card was pending. Later on this year my current lawyer told me it has never been pending and that she was sending the paperwork again… after 4 wasted years. Communication is a joke they disappear for years, I didn't hear from them since 2021 and they just reached out again this past August to notify me about the previous lawyer malpractice. They never answer the phone or answer any of my texts.
