Sargent Clint

Clint Sargent has practiced law since 1998, having trained as a trial lawyer with Mark V. Meierhenry, specializing in civil cases such as eminent domain litigation and catastrophic injuries. He also maintains an extensive criminal defense practice, defending clients against charges including murder, assault, embezzlement, tax evasion, perjury, and driving under the influence. Mr. Sargent worked closely with Michael J. Butler on high-profile criminal defense cases for over a decade.

Mr. Sargent has tried over 70 jury trials in both state and federal courts and has argued before the South Dakota Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. His professional recognitions include being named South Dakota Trial Lawyer of the Year in 2015 by the South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association and receiving the Richard S. Arnold Award for Distinguished Service in 2023. He has also been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® in Personal Injury Litigation and Eminent Domain and Condemnation Law, and recognized as a Great Plains Super Lawyer and Top 5: South Dakota Super Lawyer.
