I was recently in an accident. I was the passener of my brothers vehicle and was T-Boned by an Audi. I was taken by ambulance to the hospital. There was someone who worked at Stoner Law at the scene who called for me. My brother is young and going to college. He had no insurance. I know it is irresponsible but this was told to the Lawyer who wanted to pick up the case. I am a Navy Veteran so I was not worried about the ambulance and hospital bills. The issue I had is how the lawyer and the other lady spoke in present tense. "I will contact the insurance compnay to start a settlement." I called personally before signing any paperwork asking was it the best decision. I was informed to go to the Chiropractor. I get a call on my second day finishing up saying "oops my bad the car at fault has no insurance so there is nothing we can do." So you mean to tell me that a Lawyer had us sign paperwork, told us to go get seen, spoke as if the other car had insurance, and etc without knowing if the car at fault had insurance? I am in the process of using my insurace company USAA to see if my uninsured motorist will cover the bills at the chiropractor. It is not the fault of the Law office for my brother not having insurance, but it is unprofessional on their part to tell their clients to do somwething before reviewing the information. I initially did not want to go with a small law office because I live in Atlanta and should have gone with my first thought.
