About USCIS Albuquerque Field Office
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is an agency within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security that oversees legal immigration to the United States. USCIS field offices, such as the Albuquerque location, provide in-person services by appointment. These services include interviews for non-asylum cases, such as Green Card applications, and naturalization ceremonies. Field offices also offer information and applicant services that supplement online and phone resources.
USCIS handles a broad range of immigration matters. Key areas of focus include:
- Adoption-related immigration
- Family-based immigration
- Humanitarian relief, including Temporary Protected Status (TPS), Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), and protections for victims of human trafficking or other crimes
- Naturalization for military members and their families
- Visitor visas
- Employment-based immigration
The agency processes various forms, including applications for travel documents, permission to reapply for admission after removal, appeals of immigration decisions, and employment authorization. USCIS emphasizes the use of online tools for case management and requires appointments for all in-person visits to its field offices.

Excellent experience, citizenship interview was during covid times, conducted via ipad at the center. They will only admit you 15 minutes prior to appointment as stated in the letter. Was in and out in under 45 minutes, officer was extremely nice and courteous. Sworn in at the same time during the interview.

The automated answering service needs to be revisited. It gives basically two options and if you don't want those two things it keeps repeating it then hangs up. The website doesn't allow you to send scripted messages either so contacting them is futile. I am stuck and literally have no clue how to proceed
