About USCIS Louisville Field Office
The USCIS Louisville Field Office operates as part of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, a federal agency responsible for overseeing legal immigration to the United States. Field offices provide essential in-person services, including interviews for non-asylum cases such as Green Card applications, naturalization ceremonies, and appointments for general information and applicant services. Visitors must have a scheduled appointment, as walk-ins are not permitted. The agency's legacy in federal immigration and naturalization administration spans over a century.
The office facilitates various immigration processes, encompassing applications for travel documents, reapplication for admission after deportation or removal, and employment authorization. It also handles appeals of decisions under the Immigration and Nationality Act. Broader areas of focus for USCIS include intercountry adoption, family-based immigration, humanitarian protections like Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), military naturalization, and processes for visiting or working in the U.S. Payments for certain forms are accepted at field office locations under limited circumstances, with specific guidelines for credit card, electronic funds transfer, and check payments.

Park your car in a nearby parking .pay for 2 hours(6$) get to 4th street on foot, next to post office, Take the red stairs up, uscis is on the 1st floor. Take the double entry door push in, its open. You need to pass a metal detector and officer will ask for your invitation letter and ID. You go in they tell you to check in through window 4. Stay in line. They will take your letter and you will sit down. They will call your name shortly and youll go in and sit with your officer. Officer will ask you to show him your greencard or relevant document. Then you will swear while standing. Then he will ask you a few (6 maybe) questions from civic test. Then a very easy text appears on a tablet that you will read..m sth like: when is Columbus day. Then you need to write something similar using either your finger or a pen on that tablet... Then other legal questions you already answered in you application like did you do any thing bad! Or lied or worked with illegal etc... Then you will sign a few more documents using the tablet(you agree to serve the country if asked or needed etc) he will check some personal info with you.if you want to change your name.. .and bam! You are approved and will receive a paper and will be told to expect an invitation letter in few weeks for ceremony. Every thing was super fast super easy super respectful and i could not ask for any thing better. Thank you for your service all staff!

We were at this office in November for our citizenship interviews and went there in December for Naturalization. Both the front office and interviewing officers were super nice and made us feel right at home. Overall a great experience. The naturalization ceremony was conducted with grace and speed and we were made to feel very special!

Very professional service with a short wait time. Officer Rodriguez, who conducted our interview, was kind, patient, and extremely professional. Overall, a great experience.

We went up there 15 mins before appointment. Security guards will guide you. They will tell you to check in at the window. Then you have to wait for your name to be called. The interview was done in under 20 mins. You can park at any near garages or parking lot. We parked at one of the parking lot outside chase bank and paid at the booth over there. It took 7 mins walk to the USCIS field office.

I give them two stars, because the security guards were the only nice people inside. I came here to translate for my in laws and both times the agents were rude as hell. First time failed us for technicality and got it taken care of second time the agent was just looking for a reason to fail us. First 10 minutes she ket asking about driver license which my in-laws had for over 20 years. So not sure what that was about but even second time failed us because she said i am related to them and not allowed to translate. Every other agent said that was fine and once her supervisor came out he said it's at agent discretion. Like what the heck. So good luck that's all I have to say.
