They are currently involved in a multi state lawsuit to remove disability protections under section 504 of the rehabilitation act that have been in place for 52 years. This only harms West Virginians.

Stephanie, the Moderator in the consumer protections office is condescending, refuses to answer simple questions about her office, laughs at the publics inquiries, and hangs up prior to getting the information required to call people back. She and her office have made it clear that they are not interested in helping the public and that is sad to see from our public servants. I hope they do better in the future.

Basically got told after filing a complaint against a dealership to just pay the payments. I bought a used vehicle with 79,000 miles. Noticed some grinding noises a little after a week and brought back to the dealership about 2 weeks after having it. Transmission was done. The vehicle has been at the dealership for almost 3 months and still isn't fixed, but I'm supposed to just make the payments on a broken vehicle that I had for 2 weeks. Glad to see this state is so supportive of veterans and their families. What a joke. I'm glad to be moving to Wyoming.

My experience with the Charleston, WV attorney general's office was mostly terrible. Stephanie Groom was the person who sent me an unfair letter saying she cannot help me. I have ever been beaten, stolen from, left for dead (though obviously I am alive) and treated badly in other ways, and 160 Driving Academy in Charleston, WV will not give ANY refund back out of 4500$ after they lied, gave very bad service, insulted me, and one of the instructors told a story to a student in front of me like sexual assault is funny, and it is not. I often had to move to avoid his cigarette smoke too. Then the attorney general's office accepts my complaint against 160 but days later I get a stupid letter from Stephanie claiming she cannot help me. She is not interested in getting justice for anyone over anything.

In my experience, these people didn't help with much of anything. What stood out to me most was that whenever I asked questions, I rarely received direct answers. Instead, I was often told someone else would have to answer them, which left me questioning whether the staff had the knowledge and training needed for the positions they hold. I believe the public has every right to expect competence, transparency, and accountability from government employees. These are taxpayer-funded positions that come with salaries and benefits, and families deserve clear answers and respectful treatment when they're seeking help. My experience left me feeling frustrated and let down, particularly in my interactions with Rachel Sterling. I hope West Virginia continues to push for greater accountability and higher standards from the agencies that are meant to serve the public. Do better, West Virginia.
