  Poor Representation and Mishandled Case Our experience with Mr. Awontwa (JR) was extremely disappointing. The attorney advised the client to return to an unstable country, failed to file a motion the judge directly requested, and neglected key responsibilities—forcing me to handle tasks they should have completed. Communication was poor, with messages often ignored. A habeas petition was denied due to weak arguments, and viable legal options were never disclosed. Two independent attorneys later confirmed the case was mishandled. The client has now been detained for almost a year in immigration detention over a minor offense that is no longer deportable. We've since hired new representation. I do not recommend this attorney. The case was delayed, mismanaged, and poorly defended. Don't get sucker by the payment options.
