I was referred to the Bayliss Law firm and I'm very glad I was. I had a very peculiar case that defied logic, sense and most importantly was devoid of facts. Despite all of these details, a legal proceeding was initiated and I wasn't terribly sure how to address it. On very short notice, Mr. Bayliss reviewed the information that I had given him and when the court date arrived, he was able to do precisely what I had hired him to do. All in short order might I add. The legal landscape is complex and more often than not, overwhelming. Mr. Bayliss and his staff was professional, courteous and most importantly, competent. Consider this firm for your family courts needs. Outstanding!

Absolutely the worst professional experience I've ever had. The guy just wants your money and for you to not ask any questions and for you to never ever be informed. Other than file two agreements and 10 minutes in court he did absolutely nothing. I was never informed about anything. It took a month to get my first custody papers after court. This place is ridiculous. I don't know how they have a business.

Said there was no point in fighting extradition. Pretty sure we could have leveraged extradition in order to get a harsher punishment taken off the table. Or at least try. If you are facing extradition for a homicide and need a creative attorney I don't think this is a good fit for you. He is great for sending in to pass your phone number to a long lost cousin though :) and he is great at getting to the jail. And he is nice. The cost was not proportionate to the representation in my opinion.

Mr. Shawn Bayliss can be so persuasive when it comes to matters of money. He'll promise you he will do the best he can to win your case make you pay a kidney and a half then proceed to do absolutely nothing. Mr. Bayliss will take your money nod his head and continue to deliver empty promises. If you want to win your case do NOT hire him.

This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with an attorney. I paid $7,500 expecting professional representation for my case, but very little was done to help me. Important communication was ignored, I was left confused throughout the process, and I truly believe my case was not handled with the care it deserved. As a result, I lost precious time with my daughter and left court feeling devastated. I cannot recommend this attorney based on my experience.

GREAT ATTORNEY! Mr. Bayliss handled several legal matters for my parents over the years and has given sound advice. He is very knowledgeable about both WV and Federal law.

If I could give this man 0 stars, I would. He is extremely neglectful and honestly useless. Every time I brought up concerns to him, he would nod his head and then proceed to do absolutely nothing. I complained to him multiple times about important issues in my case, and nothing was ever filed or handled properly. What made it even worse was that he completely threw me under the bus in front of the judge instead of defending me. Instead of helping me feel supported during an already stressful situation, he made my case feel even worse. Communication was terrible the entire time. He refuses to give clients a direct number to reach him, and his office staff never relay messages or communicate properly. Trying to get updates or answers was nearly impossible. I paid this man $7,500 and received little to no actual help. I genuinely regret hiring him. Stay away from him and do not hire him as your lawyer unless you want to waste your money, time, and risk your case not being handled correctly. I would never recommend him to anyone.

One of the worst experiences I've ever had with a lawyer. From the beginning, it felt like nothing was being taken seriously. I would bring up concerns and issues with my case over and over again, and it was always the same response with no actual action afterward. Important things were ignored, communication was terrible, and I constantly felt left in the dark. What shocked me most was how little effort he put into defending me in court. Instead of helping my situation, I honestly feel like he made it worse. His office is nearly impossible to communicate with, messages never seem to get passed along, and you can never reach him directly when you actually need answers. After paying $7,500, I can confidently say I did not receive the representation I was promised. I regret hiring him and would strongly suggest others stay away and look elsewhere for legal help. Save yourself the stress, money, and disappointment.
