THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT BUSINESSES. Its membership based and if a business doesn't pay they will post personal information without the business's approval, even after asking for personal information to be removed. The customer care is a joke. I would never trust a business that pays BBB to be "Acredited". It's a joke!

I want to be clear that I didn't report my experience to the BBB because I had a bad day or wanted to vent. I reported it because I genuinely wanted to help protect other consumers — especially people who may not have the capacity, stability, or voice to do it themselves. My goal was to prevent harm, not to escalate conflict. I am posting this review on the Utah BBB page because the Extra Space Storage location I used is a corporate-owned facility, and Extra Space is headquartered in Utah. This was not a local franchise issue — the problem involves corporate-level billing practices and national policies. My report belonged at the level where the company actually operates. What shocked me was how quickly my Scam Tracker report was closed — within minutes — based on a single document submitted by the company. That document was not legitimate evidence, and the BBB gave me no opportunity to submit the supporting materials or photographs that revealed the real issue. I was given 30 minutes, through a system that does not allow email replies, does not allow supplemental documentation, and does not allow any ADA accommodations — even when needed to participate. The BBB presents itself as a neutral organization, but neutrality isn't something you claim — it's something you build into the process. A system that gives corporations unlimited time, curated evidence, and an open channel of communication, while giving consumers a countdown clock, a "do not reply" notice, and no disability-accessible options, is not neutral by definition. Outcomes follow structure. The structure favors the business. Whether intentional or not, the results are biased. This isn't just about me. It's a real crisis for consumers. When more and more review and complaint platforms trend toward business-friendly, pay-to-play environments — while reducing the space for consumers to be heard — we lose one of the last protections we have. If the BBB's processes are inaccessible, rushed, or dismissive, w

The Better Business Bureau appears to be a scam itself. It is funded by the business that it rates. All a business has to do is threaten to stop paying the dues. I spent months dealing with the BBB after being scammed by a BBB accredited asphalt company that did crap work and refused to honor their warranty. The BBB was useless. I filed the complaint but also wanted to leave a review for the asphalt company to warn others but you aren't allowed to do both but they assured me that the complaint would be made public in the end. For the complaint they required supporting evidence which I provided. Eventually they "accidentally" close my case but I wasn't too upset as no progress was being made with the asphalt company. After the case was closed I asked them to go ahead and publish the complaint but I was told that because of the supporting evidence that I submitted the complaint could not be made public. So I again tried to leave a review for the asphalt company but was told that because I had submitted a complaint I could not also submit a review. It makes no sense. So I asked how then can I protect other unsuspecting residents from being victimized by this asphalt company if I am not allowed to leave a review or have the complaint published? Sorry its just our policy was the response. So UTE Asphalt continues to scam and continues to be BBB accredited.

I bought a -10 sleeping bag form Teton Sports out of Utah. The bag was supposed to be covered with a lifetime warranty. The zipper came apart in the middle of the night in freezing temperatures. Not unzipped, but actually came apart. I wrote Teton Sports and told them the problem. They asked that I send pictures, a picture of the receipt, a picture of the tag, and a picture of the bag in the stuff sack. I did all that. They wrote back and said the zipper was not considered a defect. And they suggested that it was fixable, and I fix it myself. The zipper is a major component of a sleeping bag, a very important component. I have been back and forth with them and they refuse to acknowledge, and take responsibility. The sleeping bag was a 300.00 purchase. I would like Teton Sports to send me a new bag. Ron Marcotte

Avoid SMILE PERFECT in West Jordan, UT - they have numerous complaints. The BBB serving Northern Nevada and Utah is a truly a SCAM. I filed a complaint against Smile Perfect and they removed it. Don't even waste your time complaining to this BBB - it's member based, as long as members pay their fees, the BBB will always make their grading favorable. Shame on you BBB Northern Nevada and Utah. In addition, BBB has blocked me from writing a NEGATIVE review for Smile Perfect. Save your money, avoid Smile Perfect.
