  Dorothea was great! She handled a contract for me without any issues. At the first meeting, she advised me of options, her standard retainer, and what expect going forward. All meetings and documents were provided in a timely manner. Great experience!

  Had a long drawn out custody battle, even before Dorothea got involved. Thanks to Dorothea's work, the judge stopped some antics of the other party. Dorothea hasn't been scared to tell me how it is, share perspectives I've missed, and even some strategies that helped keep things moving. Would happily work with her.

  I am a lucky lady to have worked with Dorothea. There are so many emotions involved when it comes to family law. I appreciate how Dorothea is able to listen and then set aside and give me the facts so we can work forward to complete a goal. Stay on track and not bill me for lots of time when I don't have lots of money. Dorothea showed up for me on my court date. This was a huge closure in my life. I respected that she did that for me. If you are looking for experience, respect, and solid bill time this is a great person to work with!

  The only reason I won custody for my daughter was because I had a slam dunk case. Reaching her or her assistant was an every day hassle. Multiple messages on her voicemail and emails sent to her and she still took over a week to get a call back. Only for her to call to go over things repeatedly for extensive time to rack up money that I had to pay her. In court, a one day (3 hour) trial turned into two 3 hour trials because she wasn't prepared for her own questioning of the other parent. Yes, she allowed me to be on a payment plan, but that was the only thing that seemed to be filed on time. After the hearing, she failed for two months to file appropriate paperwork to actually collect child support. She also tried undermining what I wanted and tried getting me to go for less when it came to custody. Of course, I had to push her and stand my ground in order for HER to fight for me. She's my lawyer. Isn't it her job to fight for me? If I had to redo one thing about this custody battle, it would have been choosing a different lawyer. Even knowing that I had a slam dunk case, I was still scared and crying almost every night worried that I'd lose. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. Follow up 2 months later: they are currently still over billing me after proof of payment and excessive emails explaining that I should no longer have association with them.

  At first our experience was good. We thought Mrs. Dorothea was making progress with reviewing over everything with our case. Hired her for about 1 month and nothing was filed. We are not sure what is going on with refunding our remaining balance back to us, til this day.We concluded our business with Dorothea on April 27th, 2016, and have yet to be refunded $3668.75. We feel as if this is very unprofessional. We had no problem complying with the $5000.00 retainer. We have called multiple times, left messages, and even emailed, with a very few responses back through email. We feel that there should not be an issue on her end, with refunding what was not used. With us trying to receive our refund, there has been a huge disconnect with her assistant and Dorothea, no proper communication amongst each other, or with us. Professionally, she held us up. Not only did she miss the dead line to file in Alaska, we have to wait on Dorothea to refund our money, and still waiting on the certified papers to be mailed to us to be filed in another state. Dorothea's office has set us back almost 3 months on procrastinating.

  I was recommended by another Anchorage attorney to contact Mrs. Aguero and words cannot describe how grateful I am to have chosen Mrs.Aguero as my attorney . I hired her to represent me in the beginning of 2016 . My case was not a easy one and through it all Dorothea has stood beside me making sure things were filed on time and that I was updated on current motions filed. As draining as my divorce case was she always made sure to do what was best for me in my case . I currently live out of state and Mrs. Aguero always emailed and called me with any action I needed to proceed in . If you want someone who will represent you and fight for your case then I recommend her.
