  Called to ask a few questions about a consultation. The lady that answered the phone seemed very nice and helpful. So I asked if I could set up a appointment. She said yes then put me on hold. I waited on hold for about 5 minutes not to bad! Then I here the phone picked up and then I was hung up on. Figured it was an accident so I called back. Same lady answered the phone an was apologetic. She stated that she would transfer for me. The phone rang a few times and same lady picked up again. This time she told me she would need to call me right back in a few minutes that was hours ago! Still yet to hear back from her. So I'm giving a one star review because it should not be this hard to schedule a appointment. After looking over the other reviews it seems to be common practice at this law firm.

  My experience was awful. I did not feel listened to, understood or supported by him or his staff. The office is disorganized. Mr. Matthews showed up late to one appointment and to mediation, but charged for the full appointment time. He did not inform me of important information regarding my mediation (he later told me he knew the information before the meeting) then scolded me verbally for a choice I made during mediation based on said information. He did the bare minimum. I ended up letting him go after mediation and represented myself as I could not afford another lawyer at that point. RUN.

  Did fine with my divorce 4 years. Hired him almost a year ago for family law with my son & ex-husband and he didn't communicate with me on anything nor did I feel he was supportive with anything I was dealing with. Office always disorganized the few times I went in. I felt he & his paralegal made me feel worthless with the way they talked to me & bashed me with things I had done. Don't recommend them for any family law. Divorce he can handle but if it's more than just a straight up divorce with lots of obstacles, probably not for him. I've gladly moved on to a much more supportive lawyer that has been on top of things since day 1.

  Terrible Experience - Avoid This Lawyer at All Costs I had the unfortunate experience of hiring Mr. Matthews to represent me in my divorce case, and it was an absolute disaster from start to finish. I did not feel listened to, understood or supported by him or his staff. This attorney not only failed to provide any meaningful support or representation but also managed to waste an entire year of my time and $3000 of my hard-earned money without taking any action on my behalf. Despite promising to handle discovery and fight for my rights, Mr. Mathews did nothing of the sort. Instead, they seemed more concerned with serving the interests of my ex-husband's lawyer, leaving me feeling completely abandoned and unprotected. To add insult to injury, when I expressed concerns about my ex-husband's attempts to manipulate our assets during the divorce proceedings, Mr. Matthews brushed off my concerns and failed to take any action. As a result, my ex-husband was able to take out a $60,000 loan against our marital home , leaving me saddled with debt that should have been divided equitably. Furthermore, communication with His paralegal was practically nonexistent. Phone calls went unanswered, emails were ignored, and I was left feeling completely isolated and helpless throughout the process. His paralegal worked as secretary and letter carrier to court and several other jobs for him and an immigration attorney in that office so she had not time to answer phone or email . In the end, I had no choice but to terminate my relationship with Mr. Matthews and hire a competent lawyer who actually cared about defending my rights. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, I urge you to steer clear of Mr. Matthews. They are nothing more than a greedy, incompetent lawyer who preys on vulnerable individuals without providing any meaningful assistance or support. .The most unprofessional attorney's office I have ever seen. Save your money and take it elsewhere.

  He took thousands of dollars from me to represent my son didn't do anything except advise my son to snitch on people he didn't even really know anything about, sadly my son passed and o contact him and advised him of my son passing he asked for pictures of my son as if he didn't know him, I then sent death announcement and we spoke about him returning some of my money he claimed he'd did 75 % of the work I DONT KNOW WHAT WORK because the only thing I heard was he told my son to not tell me or discuss anything with me or anyone well I guess he knew I'd see through the crap and know he wasn't working a case for my son Never gave me any money back the staff would FLAT OUT LIE he's not in (we'd watch him go into the office Call from across the street) after several attempts I understood what a shady, unprofessional filled with greed liar he really is and the staff has no type class about them They are all smiles and full of conversation until they get your money RUN FROM THIS PLACE

  Matthew's allowed, and created coercion. He seemingly made a deal with the opposition behind my back, threw me under the bus, and even praised the opposition's attorney in court. He did not fight for me, he made threats, and dismissed my concerns. This was a horrific experience and I am disgusted with the mishandling of my case. He often responded late or not at all. Matthew's did not notify me of proceedings or mediation dates. Failed to provide documents, and failed to file important documents. Matthews failed submitting files to the judge, never provided evidence that clearly showed who the primary caregiver was and had been the entirety of my children's lives. Horribly disorganized, lost important details, made clerical mistakes. I sincerely believe Matthews had teamed up with the opposition to destroy my case and cater to my ex. The office is disgusting and disorganized. The paralegal was completely unprofessional, as well as emotionally abusive. Matthew's should not be allowed to practice law, especially family law. This experience was emotionally, and financially devastating. I have ptsd from enduring his negligence, as well as his verbal abuse. Matthew's yelled at me and degraded me in court and behind closed doors. Matthew's is a corrupt attorney.
