  This man is the truth. He doesn't bring biased ideas into the situation. It's supposed to be about what is best for the child (in custody cases) and what fair( in divorce). Mr. Shadd makes sure justice is served with his clients being represented like O.J. and Johnnie Corinne! He will go to bat for you and kill it like Hank Aaron! In the Metro there is no one better. You are blessed that you have made it here. Now make the smart move and hire him you will not be disappointed.

  James handled 2 custody cases for me. I also sent him some more business. Both cases for me were resolved out of court. My only issue is I supported him when he was in politics, gave him my cases and others. Then there came a day when I really really needed him because my daughter was being emotionally abused and became a threat to herself. He was going to charge me a ridiculous amount and even after I agreed to make payments, which I ALWAYS kept him paid he wouldn't agree. I ended up getting someone else. It's disheartening when you trust someone, send work and support politically just to feel like a case number . All his "caring" seemed conditional after he made a name for himself. He forgot the ones who helped. Will never go back. So disappointing and it showed true colors. I see he was affordable to others recently...guess I'm not his kind of person. It truly felt like he did not want the case and said I might want to call someone else. Funny how people forget. This is just my experience. Glad he found it in his heart to help "his" kind.

  James is exceptional at what he does. He looks out for you and your best interests. He replies promptly, explains things to make sure you are understanding the process entirely, and is with you every step of the way. He also gives and receives respect in the courtroom, which says a lot about his character. I highly recommend James and will use him again if I ever need him!

  He was so kind and cool in the beginning but then he got frustrated with me when my case made a turn. Seemed like he sided with the prosecution, just wanting it be over. Promised to make sure people respect me but when the court clerk mocked me he did nothing & then tried to get me to 2nd guess myself.

  Like the previous person stated below, kind at first and then turns around and laughs when you ask for any legal advice or support.If I could share a negative star I would. I contacted this lawyer through a reference and let's just say for the price, you can definitely find a better representative. He took our case to court and we had an order in place to be mutually restrained. When I contact the office again for violation I am told to pay another $208 consultation fee. Even though this was a long on going dispute, the Shadd laughed when I expressed my concern instead of offering sincere support. He did not offer any sincere guidance on how to properly handle the situation. Which is to enforce an order that was in place by a judge, I also explained that my children were not safe and he accused me of making false claims. Because he did not follow up and made me appear to be the aggressor the same individuals that I've been having history with tried to run my son over in his truck. And now we're going through the SAME PROCESS ALL OVER AGAIN. If you want REAL representation RUN BECAUSE YOU WONT GET IT HERE.
