About Attorney General
The Attorney General's Office serves as the chief legal officer for the State of Missouri, a role mandated by the state's Constitution. The Attorney General is elected by Missouri voters for a four-year term. The office's mission is to protect and advance the interests of the state and its citizens through judicial and legislative processes, serving as the People's lawyer and advocating for openness and justice.
The office represents and provides legal advice to most state agencies, defends challenges to the validity of state laws, and enforces civil laws, including consumer protection and environmental regulations. It defends the State's interests in various civil actions, such as bankruptcies, workers' compensation claims, professional licensing cases, and habeas corpus actions filed by state and federal inmates. Additionally, the office acts as a special prosecutor in criminal cases when appointed and handles all statewide appeals from felony convictions. The Attorney General's Office brings and defends lawsuits on behalf of the State and prepares formal legal opinions for state officers, legislators, or county attorneys. It represents the State in litigation across all levels, from administrative tribunals to the U.S. Supreme Court, and includes an Office of Solicitor General for appellate and national matters. The office cannot offer legal advice or act on behalf of individuals.

I haven't received a response from this office about my my concern un almost a year. However, I received a response regarding my dad, who is now deceased. This office is more concerned about things that are frivolous than something detrimental to the community. Good work, Missouri Attorney General. SMH

Always take your complaint seriously. Work tirelessly in completing the case with a resolution. If they are communicative if theirs any updates to share. Will request more information on your case if need be. Now, I will say it can be a very long process, as they have legal advocates work on your behalf and to keep in mind, because the huge volume in complaints, takes a while to receive a resolution- they mediate on your behalf these legal advocates are by no means act as your lawyer. Therefore, will not give legal advice in your case.

Sue Reed was my case worker and she was extremely unpleasant to work with. She did the absolute bare minimum to assist with my case, was short and rude, and even ignored me for about 7 weeks, it took constant badgering on my behalf to get the bare minimum from her. Overall, she made this experience 1000x more excruciating and miserable for me.

If I can give more than 5 stars, I will. The receptionist at this office is superb. Totally, the whole staff is organized, courteous, and respectful. I couldn't say more, but you're the best!

The office of Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway is subpoenaing patient medical records, incident reports, "adverse event documentation" and more from Planned Parenthood. Nothing more than illegal harassment meant to impose terror on American Citizens
