Going against an entity that had no longer represented my views was terrifying for me. I had no idea who to turn to--or how to even start defending my US Constitutional rights. The Fairness Center provided the guidance and encouragement I needed during the entire process. My attorney, Nathan McGrath, and the entire staff listened to my needs, created a path and did a fabulous job representing co-plaintiffs and me. The Fairness Center worked diligently for the outcome I desired and it was obtained. In a world of uncertainty, it was comforting to know I was in capable hands.

I have tried for several months looking for a law firm to take a misrepresentation case against a Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police. I found the Fairness Center website and thought I finally found someone who would represent us seeing that they have filed lawsuits against the Fire and Prison unions. The attorney that I spoke to was kind and seemed empathetic but was very disappointed that they wouldn't take our case. I sent them paperwork filed in the Eastern circuit of the federal courts 6 years ago that showed what other employees in our department were getting for doing the same job and what our union proposed at our recent contract arbitration that was significantly less. They couldn't give me a reason on why they wouldn't take the case and the only reason I could think of is because they didn't want to be the law firm that sued the police union. This was a common reaction we received from other law firms. So, long story short, even if you have written proof of misrepresentation they will not challenge the police union.
