  This law firm has by far the best staff of people in the Lake Charles area and beyond! Mike Hodgkins handled our claim with expertise and compassion, when we were frustrated in trying to get a fair settlement on our own. Mike responded quickly to every question or concern that we had, and he worked diligently to obtain a settlement that we were not able to accomplish ourselves.   After dealing with the insurance company and being frustrated with the lack of empathy as well as lack of professionalism, I hired Mike Hodgkins with VBPW to handle my hurricane claim. He is a true professional, attentive to the needs of his clients, and was successful in obtaining a settlement that was beneficial to myself and my family so we can get the repairs done to our house, and to start putting the pieces back together from what the hurricanes tried to take away from us.

  I've had two legal disputes in my lifetime, and I hired Veron Bice as counsel for both. First for a business dispute (to put it nicely) via Mike Veron and second for a hurricane claim via Mike Hodgkins. The Mikes and their teams are professional, responsive, and most importantly, flat out good at lawyering. I highly recommend this firm, and can personally vouch for all of the non-Mikes as well. They have put together an incredible team, and they will take care of you. I'm a lawyer, so it is easy for me to critique other lawyers harshly -- especially when handling my own cases. Despite my best efforts, I don't have a single negative thing to say about this group.

  Hired Mike Hodgkins & couldn't be more satisfied with the outcome of our hurricane claim. He went above & beyond! After months of not hearing from our claims adjuster, it only took one letter from Mr. Hodgkins & our insurance company was ready to settle. The claim was handled promptly & professionally.   I can truly say that this law firm is true to their word. I filed a claim for my mom after hurricane Laura with All-State. It was so devastating to find out according to them that there was not enough damage for a claim. After going back and forth with them to no avail, I decided to take my time and restore it as I could. It was so devastating but I had no choice. I of course canceled the insurance with All-State and went with another carrier. Someone referred Vernon and Bice to me in a local restaurant. After meeting with them they reassured me they would handle it and that they did. They sent their specialist out and found so much damage it was unreal. I can't began to explain my joy as I cried when they called me to come and pick up my check. I was able to restore my mom's home and allowed her to live in it one weekend. She passed a few weeks later but you could feel her sense of comfort during her stay. This made it all worth the time and effort to restore it. Veron and Bice took the wheel and made a disaster a true blessing. I would trust them with an issue I may encounter. Thank you dearly for your assistance in making the insurance company pay.
