  I hired a junior attorney at Baker Donelson to review an existing corporate document, expecting a day or two of work and a bill under $5,000 at $200 per hour. Instead, I received a five-figure invoice. I immediately instructed them to stop work, but the delay between when they began billing and when I received the invoice added several thousand more in charges before I could react. In the end, I received zero work product yet felt compelled to pay the bill after they emphasized that they are a top-tier firm and implied that challenging the charges would not end well for me. Based on this experience, I would not use their services again.
