Judge Ashley Edwards' conduct in my case resulted in profound constitutional violations, emotional distress, and a complete erosion of trust in the judicial process. She ruled on motions without ensuring all parties were properly served or given notice, a fundamental requirement of due process. Attempting to "cure" this violation after the fact by allowing a motion for reconsideration within fourteen days does not satisfy constitutional standards. Due process is preventative, not remedial. Post-deprivation remedies cannot correct the harm caused when notice and an opportunity to be heard are denied before a hearing. Even after acknowledging the violation and voiding her own order upon a motion to vacate, Judge Edwards failed to restore the case to its prior posture, instead allowing all consequences flowing from the unconstitutional order to remain in place. This compounded the harm rather than correcting it. Equally troubling is her tolerance of unauthorized practice of law. In my bankruptcy case, one creditor improperly represents another creditor in court proceedings, and Judge Edwards takes no action and just give warning(s) when non attorney is drafting filing and serving motions on behalf of another. This is not a technical oversight—it strikes at the integrity of the legal system and unfairly prejudices unrepresented parties. The cumulative effect of these actions caused significant emotional distress, financial strain, and a strong appearance of personal bias. Courts exist to protect constitutional rights, not sidestep them. This experience was deeply disheartening and left me questioning whether fairness and accountability were ever meaningfully considered.
