About Kansas Legal Services

Kansas Legal Services (KLS) is a statewide non-profit corporation established to provide legal aid and mediation services to low-income Kansans. Formed in 1977 through the merger of legal aid societies in Kansas City, Topeka, and Wichita, KLS serves as the primary legal aid organization in the state. Its mission is to ensure equal access to justice for vulnerable citizens by helping them meet basic needs.

The organization provides civil legal advice and representation without cost or with reduced fees to eligible individuals. KLS operates through eleven legal services offices and two mediation offices across Kansas, serving all 105 counties. In the past year, Kansas Legal Services assisted over 26,000 people.

KLS helped me when i was going through a hard time with my property management and eviction court. I have never been in a situation like this before and i was very lost and didnt know what to do. I had a very nice young lady named Katie offer to help me with my case, she was very caring, and ready to help from the very start. She helped me get the case dismissed and found a solution better than i could've even imagined and super quick. If you're looking for solid legal guidance and you're reading this, you are definitely headed in the right direction! Im convinced Katie was a guardian angel because what she did to help me seemed virtually impossible to me but she did it with what seemed to be ease.
