Just had court yesterday have been going back and fourth battling with my sons father for full custody of my son. First off I feel like they have me getting all the extra people involved I'm paying money to people for no reason. Second I don't feel like they do any research for you they wait til the last minute to actually decide to do their jobs. And to add insult to injury my lawyer sat in court yesterday drawing pictures instead of helping my keep my son in my home which resulted in my sons father getting custody of him temporarily. I am disgusted and I am seeking help and I will be reaching out to the herald about the in justice of these so called courts who takes kids away from moms who actually care and take care of their children but give white mothers who kill their children a pat on their backs I hate SC and I will get my son back in my home.

I applied through their intake process, told them exactly what I needed. A birth certificate for my daughter who was born at home. Paid 800 for a paternity/maternity test at their request. They did nothing for months until I started working again, then told me I did not qualify any longer therefore there was nothing they can do for me. I even asked if they can recommend an attorney that could help, but because I don't qualify anymore they couldn't answer that question. Completed incompetence and a waste of months.

I was treated so much compassion and kindness in a difficult situation. I'm thankful for the encouragement and the safe place to allow myself to be okay before continuing my day.

I only wish that there was a possibility to rate zero stars, which I know is a typical reply on here by almost everyone that writes a poor review, but this place is truly abhorrent. I do not have time to write a lengthy reply at the moment, however, I will be returning to do just that. It just so happens that we are inundated with writing our own motions and defenses now as we are now representing ourselves Pro Se since the Legal Aid attorney withdrew from our case because we, very simply, asked her to put up a fight. She wouldn't do anything other than settle and consistently tried to force us into doing just that despite the fact that we have a very strong case and despite the fact that there were very serious concerns regarding the other environment. She allowed the defense counsel to bully us, allowed OC to do ALL of the talking in the courtroom and never spoke up even once on our behalf, dismissed legitimate safety concerns with the other household, never informed us of our right to ADA protections under the law, tried to mitigate hallway negotiations with OC against our wishes prior to entering the courtroom with a very strong and viable defense, consistently counseled us against fighting back and was even condescending, rude, and, frankly, judgmental over things that we should not have been shamed for that she used to make us feel vulnerable and like our case was hopeless. There was SO much wrong with the work, if you can call it that, that they did that we even had to file a motion to strike and vacate a motion that she filed for our case because it almost sabotaged our case entirely. Unless you're only goal is to settle and ask for help with simple paperwork, stay away from these people and this place because they don't care about their clients and they will not advocate for you and, if you ask them to do just that, they will label you difficult and uncooperative and withdraw from your case just because you want to fight to protect your children from abusiv
